TWIST LOCK unleash an unapologetically hostile atmosphere in the punishing new single “Get Bent”. With a sound rooted in beatdown hardcore, “Get Bent” provides an unyielding assault of commanding breakdowns. The debut EP, Surplus Citizen, is due to release on June 12, 2026.
On “Get Bent”, the band comment: “This one’s about that feeling of getting screwed out of your future. Growing up thinking you had a shot at something, then realizing everything’s controlled by corporations and billionaires who don’t give a shit. It’s about being stuck working just to survive while they keep stacking everything in their favor. Definitely one of the more personal tracks, just straight frustration.”
A sense of foreboding emerges from the slow-tempo opening of “Get Bent”. The brutality builds leading into an intense groove-driven attack ignited by the anger of fake promises and the loss of future possibilities.
Featuring current and former members of ATOLL, EYES OF PERDITION, LUNACY, NECRAMBULENT, and NECROBOT, TWIST LOCK strips everything down to its rawest form: slow, heavy, down-tempo hardcore loaded with punk aggression and zero excess. Built on crushing riffs, raw production, and confrontational lyrics, Surplus Citizen channels frustration, anger, and the feeling of everyday people being crushed under the weight of modern society.
Surplus Citizen was produced by TWIST LOCK and recorded at Filthy Swine Productions with engineers Wade Taylor and Cameron Broomfield. The EP was mixed and mastered by Wade Taylor who also created the cover artwork for Surplus Citizen.
