Hamilton/Montreal-based Post-Metal/Post-Hardcore band LOVERSTEETH’s relentless pursuit of a unique sonic identity began with their self-titled, self-produced EP in 2022, followed by the poignant “Feign” (2023) and the shoegaze-infused “Branches of Argyle” (2024).

Gaining a strong following across Ontario, Québec, and the Maritimes, LOVERSTEETH  has built a reputation for their seamless blend of brutality and sentimentality. Their latest release, the 3-minute powerhouse “Embedded,” defies expectations and showcases their raw intensity.

Vocalist Brandon McCabe explains, “While constructing more melodic, textural music has been our primary mode of operation for quite a while, we wanted to offer something pure in its intention and intensity. We want to make you move—we’re a heavy band, but it has been largely juxtaposed with the peaks and valleys within the songs themselves. What would happen if we plugged straight into our amps and jammed some simple grooves? No pro-tools sessions, no layering, just fire and gasoline—Embedded.”

The result is undeniably ferocious. “Embedded” offers an aggressive performance from McCabe and The GOOD DEPRESSION’s own Dylan McDonnell, marking the band’s most violent piece to date. Departing from clean or melodic guitars, the track opts for octave drops and dissonance, with grooves and rhythms reminiscent of Nu-Metal heavyweights KORN and LINKIN PARK.

This song is the third collaboration with Juno-nominated mixer/engineer Chris Snow and is the first with production credits. “Embedded” is a testament to LOVERSTEETH’s evolution, showcasing their ability to balance raw aggression with a refined, impactful sound.
