Dizzying deathcore powerhouse A SCAR FOR THE WICKED are preparing to decimate with their forthcoming release Acolythus on November 7th, 2024. Today, they offer their a fresh taste with their new single “The Son Of Dawn”.
The band comments on “The Son Of Dawn,” sharing: “‘Son of Dawn’ delves into the sin of treachery by recounting the downfall of Lucifer through the perspective of his acolytes. The song serves as a solemn eulogy to the dark lord, reflecting on his fall from grace and their anticipation of his eventual return. The narrative captures the reverence of those who await his prodigal return, adding depth to the theme of betrayal.”
“Musically, the song is the fastest and most technical of the album, featuring super-fast guitar playing and blast beats. Includes heavy, intense riffs .Features a fast-picking solo that showcases technical proficiency and adds to the song’s intensity. Ends with a high-energy riff, wrapping up the album with a strong and intense finish. The song was the last written for the album, hinting at future directions for the band.”

About A SCAR FOR THE WICKED:
Based out of Ottawa, Ontario, Canada, the ensemble formed in 2011 drawing primary influences from the likes of THE BLACK DHALIA MURDER, DIMMU BORGIR, THE ZENITH PASSAGE, and BELPHEGOR, and the gory blood-soaked realms of horror. The following year saw the release of the debut EP Scars, with subsequent EPs The Necrobutcher and The Unholy landing in 2014 and 2018 respectively. Across their career, the band have have brought their unyielding energy to festivals around their home state, and notably have shared stages with heavyweight acts including WHITECHAPEL, THY ART IS MURDER, BORN OF OSIRIS, ARCHSPIRE, and CHELSEA GRIN.
