“Minds of the Broken,” written by vocalist Randy Reyes, focuses on the internal devastation carried by soldiers returning from the war on terror in Iraq and Afghanistan. Reyes drew inspiration from friends who survived the battlefield yet continue to struggle with the psychological toll of war. The song captures insomnia, survivor’s guilt, and the haunting memories of fallen comrades. Crushing riffs collide with tense, atmospheric passages that mirror the instability of a mind fighting battles long after the war has ended. Percussion patterns evoke the sudden shock of flashbacks while layered melodies summon memories that refuse to fade. The album was tracked at Underground Studios in Tampa, Florida with engineer Bob Noxious, whose punk background added a fresh edge to the recording process.
