Blackened Gothic Metal outfit ARSENIC ADDICTION have unveiled their powerful single “Mary Immaculate” with a new music video. Making a stand against gender-based discrimination and damaging social expectations, ARSENIC ADDICTION draw from gothic and religious iconography in this compelling offering.

Lady Arsenic comments:

“As women we are often misjudged when we do not fill the roles polite society has placed upon us. This song is for you. This song is for Mother Mary for without her there would be no god. This song is for Mary Magdalene, named whore for the love of her savior. This song is for your mothers, your daughters, those who are told they are not real women for not meeting the asinine expectations of black and white femininity. This song is for those with heartache, those who feel misunderstood, dejected, for being bold enough to be their authentic selves and damned for it.”

About ARSENIC ADDICTION:
Hailing from Salt Lake City, UT, the quintet ARSENIC ADDICTION produce Blackened Gothic Metal. Formed in 2006, ARSENIC ADDICTION initially started as a band inspired by the Victorian era and bands who had their own characters and lore, hence the name ‘ARSENIC ADDICTION’. After touring the Western US the band decided to take a break from live shows and focus strictly on writing in 2012. It took five years to write their latest album XIX (2019), and within those five years the band redefined their image and sound. ARSENIC ADDICTION’s new releases sees the band focusing more on witchcraft, ritual, and death, taking greater influence from folk, black, and death metal.
