Brooklyn-based industrial punk outfit GLDN is set to captivate audiences with the release of a remastered and expanded version of their critically divisive EP, First Blood. This announcement comes in conjunction with the launch of their compelling new single, “Harmful If Swallowed,” and an accompanying music video. The remastered and expanded version of First Blood features an array of new additions to the track list, including “Suicide Machine” and “Metamorphosis,” both of which were originally featured on the Hemophilia remix album. “Harmful If Swallowed,” the band’s new single, rounds out the expanded track list.

“As we continue to work on new music, something kept pulling me back to this track,” says vocalist and songwriter, Nicholas Golden. “I always felt there was more I wanted to do with it, and certain things that have taken place in my life over the last year finally allowed me to find the inspiration to finish it. I think it’s fair to say that many people can relate to the struggle to remain untainted or undamaged by the traumatic events they experience, and without going into specifics, that’s really what’s at the heart of this song.”

The already haunting track was previously only available as an instrumental interlude, and the newly expanded version places heavy emphasis on unnerving listeners from the outset, with its dissonant piano intro leading into unsettlingly reserved vocals from Golden. The dark visuals of the music video add an extra layer of depth to the music, underscoring the band’s commitment to the synergy of sound and visuals in their art. GLDN will drop the newly remastered and expanded version of First Blood on October 20th. “Harmful If Swallowed” is available now.

About GLDN:
GLDN was founded in 2017 in Brooklyn, New York by Nicholas Golden. For two years, Golden expanded on his experience as a performer and songwriter, perfecting his art. In 2019, he began to search for live members to bring his music to the stage. Over the next few years and following several line-up changes, Golden finally found his musical match in guitarist Kevin Marambio, bassist Malachi Czuchwicki, and drummer Miguel Vela.

GLDN draws musical and thematic influences from bands like NINE INCH NAILS, KORN, EVANESCENCE, DEFTONES, ROB ZOMBIE, PANTERA, HOLE, and PUSCIFER. The industrial punk four-piece also finds great inspiration, both musically and visually, in films by renowned filmmakers like David Lynch, Darren Aronofsky, and David Fincher. Always delving deep into self-affirming gloom, GLDN conjures up soundscapes that feel macabre and diabolic, fully embracing concepts that are so often hidden from view.

GLDN is:
Vocals – Nicholas Golden
Guitar – Kevin Marambio
Bass – Malachi Czuchwicki
