“Chasing Ghosts” is the latest single to land from the Chicago-based solo project, GORGONAUT. Led by multi-instrumentalist Ryan Bruchert (BLACK SITES, HEWHOCORRUPTS, TRIALS, CENTAURUS), the forthcoming EP Ayame is scheduled to arrive on October 16, 2026.
In “Chasing Ghosts”, the narrative revolves around a developing obsession with an imagined entity. What begins as a mere casual interest intensifies into an inescapable obsession that becomes a form of self-destruction.
Musically, this release differs from the other songs found on Ayame. “Chasing Ghosts” delivers a melancholic atmosphere as the arrangement is devised predominantly of electronic pads. In the EP’s running order, “Chasing Ghosts” provides a brief respite from the high intensity of the surrounding tracks.
GORGONAUT and the forthcoming EP arose from a desire to continue writing, creating and producing music alongside major life changes. Ayame delves into introspective themes, obsession, loss of control but also of taking future success into one’s own hands.
Ayame was produced, mixed and mastered by Ryan Bruchert at Biffco Studios. The EP cover artwork was created by artist Darius Puia @instagram.bakaarts.
