Guitar-driven hard rock outfit SHUNPIKE invite you in for an alternative cuppa with their new single “Tea Leaves”. The track is a social commentary on the problematic nature of parasocial relationships, and is the third component of a tri-part offering following “Believe” and “Nail Biter” which released earlier in 2024.
The band comments on the single: “‘Tea Leaves’ is a glaring look at people who assign their own beliefs on their heroes regardless of fact, and derive their personality from what they perceive those heroes to be. This one is probably our most ‘alternative’ song to-date with some weird chords and atypical progressions.”

About SHUNPIKE:
The band’s sound draws from across the rock and metal genres including aspects of classic rock, classic hard rock, punk, stoner rock/metal and some hair metal. Notable musical influences include the likes of ALICE IN CHAINS, SOUNDGARDEN, PEARL JAM, SMASHING PUMPKINS and RED HOT CHILI PEPPERS. As a band comprised of a lineup of extreme metalheads, SHUNPIKE prefer to explore more of the realms of rock with the members’ heavier backgrounds manifesting through song structures and instrument dynamics.
Based out of Lancaster, Ohio, SHUNPIKE formed in 2020 and the release of their debut EP Stuck followed shortly after in 2021. Amid a number of line-up changes post-EP, January 2022 then saw the band’s full-length All The Lovely Colors. Now in 2024, the band have released a tri-part series of singles.
