Genre-fusing progressive project ANNIHILUS MUNDI has unveiled the sophomore full-length The Dead Sea Scrolls. In the 77-minute long concept album ANNIHILUS MUNDI reconceptualizes the central ideas through Hideaki Anno’s notorious 1995 anime series Neon Genesis Evangelion and its subsequent 1997 film The End of Evangelion. The release also draws upon the personal lived experiences of composer and lyricist Daniel Saillant. Order The Dead Sea ScrollsHERE.

Project founder and composer Daniel Saillant comments on the new album release:
“The Dead Sea Scrolls is an album that followed me across some of the most difficult and highly transformative parts of my life. What started as just a paint-by-numbers Evangelion concept album became something far more complex, combining a story I love with reflections on the drastic changes occurring in the world around me. I deeply love what this music became and have never been prouder of anything I’ve ever created.

I hope this album finds the ears of those who’ve experienced the same social, political, and personal anxieties I have, and I hope it helps them process those feelings in the same way it helped me. Endless thanks to Noah, Chris, Davy, Andre, and Rick for helping bring this band to life.”

Vocalist Noah Magnelli shares:
“I could not be more honored to be selected as the lead voice of Annihilus Mundi. The Dead Sea Scrolls has been a huge undertaking vocally for me, and I’m incredibly proud of how it turned out. I could never thank Dan enough for trusting me, and involving me with this project.

It’s been surreal to be working alongside incredible musicians like him, as well as Davy, Chris, Andre, and Rick. Many thanks to my family and friends for always supporting and believing in me. Special thanks to our listeners, and the incredible people we’ve met along this journey. Thank you all for being here. This album is my biggest achievement as a musician, and I look forward to what the future holds.”

The Dead Sea Scrolls was produced, mixed and mastered, and engineered by Daniel Saillant at Wailing Pines Productions. The album’s artwork was created by Chris at Misanthropic Designs.
