Horror-obsessed metal maniacs NECRONOMICON EX MORTIS have released their latest single, “Chopped Up and Burned,” from the forthcoming EP Zombie Blood Nightmare, arriving February 20, 2026.
“Chopped Up and Burned” is possibly the band’s most gratuitous track yet. A seven-minute death-thrash masterclass, it delivers relentless speed, technical insanity, and unapologetic brutality, channeling the chaos and gore of Sam Raimi’s cult classic The Evil Dead.
The song features two blistering guest solos from Matthew Mills and Jeff Young (formerly of MEGADETH), each adding their own brand of shred-fueled carnage.
Produced, recorded, and mixed by Charlie Waymire at Ultimate Studios and mastered by Ernesto Homeyer, Zombie Blood Nightmare features six tracks of shred-heavy, horror-drenched chaos.
