Vithial announces the release of the new single “War of the Gods, the Balance of Darkness and Light” from the forthcoming debut album Awakened Ancient Spirits, scheduled for release on June 5, 2026.
“War of the Gods, the Balance of Darkness and Light” presents a mythological conflict between mortals and divine beings fighting to determine the fate of existence. As light becomes corrupted through mortal influence, the gods of darkness rise in anger and wage war to restore balance between darkness and light. The song reflects one of the central narrative themes explored throughout the album.
The track combines black and death metal elements with atmospheric synth passages that introduce and conclude the composition. Mystic guitar melodies, aggressive riffing, dynamic drumming, harsh vocals, and subtle symphonic textures shape the sound while maintaining a balance between modern production and traditional extreme metal character.

VITHIAL is a melodic black and death metal solo project from Pensacola, Florida, created and driven by David Dwayne. The project emerged in late 2023 and began taking form throughout 2024, initially envisioned as a collaborative effort before evolving into a fully independent endeavor. Early material was written during a period of experimentation and lineup exploration, resulting in a demo release that reflected the project’s formative stage rather than its final direction.
Musically, VITHIAL draws heavily from 1990s second-wave black metal and Florida death metal, with thrash metal influence shaping its rhythmic drive and aggression.
