“Soulless Chasm” is the new single offering from Blackened symphonic death metal ensemble ILLUSION OF FATE. Delivering a brooding and bleak soundscape, the band’s upcoming EP is scheduled for release on January 8, 2027. Exsanguination is available to pre-order HERE.
“Soulless Chasm” was originally created a number of years ago but ILLUSION OF FATE felt it didn’t fully embody their intended vision at that time. As the band has grown and developed their compositional style, “[t]he re-recorded version finally captures the atmosphere and intensity that had always existed in the original concept, allowing the song to become what it was always intended to be.”
Lyrically, “‘Soulless Chasm’ explores humanity’s confrontation with the unknown. Darkness, vast emptiness, and incomprehensible cosmic forces become symbols for surrendering one’s identity before something infinitely greater than individual existence.
Rather than providing resolution, the song concludes the EP by embracing mystery, leaving listeners to contemplate transformation as an ongoing process rather than a final destination.”
The track emerges from the shadows with a haunting piano melody and eerie synths. ILLUSION OF FATE entices the listener into their gloomy depths with melodic elements that subside into darkness and dissonance.
Exsanguination was produced by Hayden Crownover at Crownover Productions. The release was mixed by Hayden Crownover and mastered by Alan Douches. The cover artwork for Exsanguination was created by Kevin Wegner (Very Deadly Media).
